The two sides signed a lease agreement which will enable R-Offices to provide grade A serviced offices to businesses at Al Bateen Executive Airport

“This Public Private Partnership (PPP) project will enhance the range of office space on offer to the business aviation industry, including aircraft operators, in-flight catering and investment companies,” said Mohammed Al Bulooki, ADAC’s chief commercial officer. Al Bulooki said the airport is experiencing continued strong growth in aircraft traffic and its tenant base, in parallel to the witnessed growth of this dynamic sector.

The agreement was signed between Ian Lloyd, CEO R-Offices, and Al Bulooki, during Abu Dhabi Air Expo.

R-Offices said it will invest in developing 2,270 m2 of turnkey, furnished office facilities with a full suite of business support services on flexible lease terms within a serviced office environment.

Lloyd, said: “Abu Dhabi is growing at an impressive pace and having closely watched the rapid development of services and facilities to the aviation community at Al Bateen Executive Airport, we view it as an ideal location to operate and do business in the capital.”

Mohammed Al Bulooki, added: ““Al Bateen is now able to offer a wider choice of lease options to its expanding aviation community. The combination of prime serviced and non-serviced office facilities and the Free Zone, provides benefits such as plug & play convenience, and reduced fit-out costs for companies that require flexibility. This new venture is part of Abu Dhabi Airport Company’s strategic focus on Public-Private Partnerships in delivering new projects in its airports and free zones.”

Al Bateen was recently awarded Free Zone status by the Executive Council, as part of the Emirate’s strategic plan to promote foreign direct investments and host more international organizations looking to set up businesses in Abu Dhabi.  The Free Zone services include company incorporation, registration, and licensing, rapid visa processing and leasing services - all in a fast-track one stop shop window environment, from early 2012.

Visitors to the Air Expo this week were able to see the progress made at Al Bateen where ADAC has already invested US$50 million in turning the 50-year-old military airport into a luxury business aviation gateway with an impressive VVIP passenger terminal.  Further plans are in place to develop new commercial facilities, hangars, apron enhancements, utilities and runway work.

This latest announcement follows the signing of an agreement with the Swiss catering firm, Gate Gourmet, which has already commenced construction of a business jet catering facility at Al Bateen.
