Libyan VIP jet destroyed by rebels at Tripoli Airport

According to the London-based site, little more than the empennage and engines remain recognisable but indications from the vertical fin - including the specific layout of the logo and partial registration - indicate the twinjet is the 26-year-old A300-600 (5A-IAY) formerly used as a VIP transport.
The aircraft will be familiar to UAE operators as it was formally used as part of the Emiri flight.
ATI reported that at least one other Afriqiyah aircraft, an A320-has also been damaged by fire on the underside of its fuselage.
