Hey Big Spender! - Abu Dhabi duty free tills ringing with record sale

The unnamed customer spent $372,482 in a single transaction which is beleived to be the largest ever single customer airport sale. Mohammed Al Bulooki, Chief Commercial Officer of ADAC, said: “This is a historic day in the history of Abu Dhabi Duty Free and our partnership with DFS.”
DFS Group - headquartered in Hong Kong - is the world’s largest luxury travel retailer and is a partner at the Abu Dhabi airport providing the luxury shopping experience.
Therecord-breaking customer is a member of DFS’ loyalty program, Platinum Services Club, which is only available in two airports globally: Abu Dhabi and Changi Airport in Singapore. which offers premium customers the opportunity to access exclusive products, with an array of added value benefits, whilst shopping at DFS Abu Dhabi International Airport.
Al Bulooki added: “Abu Dhabi continues to develop into a leading global destination; with a major increase in the number of high profile events with international reach taking place in the Emirate. Events such as Formula 1 Etihad Airways Grand Prix, the Volvo Ocean race, the European PGA Golf Tour, The Mubadala World Tennis Championships and the Abu Dhabi International Film Festival have brought with them an increase in the numbers of high net worth visitors to the Emirate year on year.”
