Dubai 2015: Rockwell Collins boss keeps smiling
Rockwell Collins Claude Alber has a lot to smile about. The VP and MD of its Europe, Middle East and Africa business said that its portfolio continues to grow with many contract announcements being made at the show.
Alber said that Rockwell Collins had passed the “synergy targets” it set itself after its acquisition of ARINC in 2013, and the combined businesses are now fully integrated.
“We aim to more than double our synergy results in 2016,” he added.
As a result of the acquisition, Rockwell Collins now has a very active airports business, with contracts in Cairo, Dubai International and Doha, plus an inflight connectivity business arm that should show its mettle with a major Inmarsat GX announcement expected today.
“Our avionics equipment is flying on 10 airlines in the Middle East, plus we have a significant government and military business, with our avionics and communications on Saudi Boeing F-15s and Eurofighter Typhoons to name just two,” Alber said.
“There are a lot of opportunities, not just in this region but worldwide, and we have a lot of traction,” he concluded.
