Abdulmohsen Al Sayegh Air appointed Air Seychelles chief financial officer
Abdulmohsen Al Sayegh, who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Financial Services from the UAE’s Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), has extensive experience working for Etihad Airways in the UAE and across the world.
The 34-year-old Emirati joined Etihad Airways as Senior Financial Controller in 2008 and moved to the Sydney office three years later, following a promotion to Senior Finance Manager, Australia. In the same year, he was named Best Emirati Finance Employee at Etihad Airways’ annual employee awards in recognition of his significant contribution.
In 2013, Al Sayegh was stationed in the airline’s regional office in Berlin as Area Finance Manager, overseeing its operations in Ireland, Belgium, Turkey and Cyprus, together with the financial accounts of the UAE embassies in Europe on behalf of Etihad Airways.
Ray Gammell, Etihad Airways chief people and performance officer, said: “Etihad Airways has a successful track record of developing talented, ambitious and hardworking Emiratis into future business leaders. We are extremely proud of Abdulmohsen Al Sayegh’s rapid career progress during the past seven years at Etihad Airways and know he will make a vital contribution as Chief Financial Officer of our partner airline, Air Seychelles.”
Abdulmohsen Al Sayegh said: “Etihad Airways is considered an employer of choice for UAE nationals and I am truly grateful for the development opportunities provided to me over the years, not only in my home country, but also overseas. Working in such a dynamic, fast paced environment has equipped me with the skills and experience necessary to support Air Seychelles as Chief Financial Officer in the next stage of its development.”
Al Sayegh replaces the current Air Seychelles Chief Financial Officer, Tara Murphy, who returns to a senior role at Etihad Airways in Abu Dhabi.
Manoj Papa, Air Seychelles chief executive officer, said: “We welcome Abdulmohsen as our new Chief Financial Officer at an important time in the evolution of the airline. The leadership role in finance is important to ensure that, while we grow, we maintain our focus on our mandate of profitability. We also thank Tara for her leadership and commitment to excellence in all aspects of the finance function, including reporting, procurement, project management and governance. Tara has made an important contribution in driving our profitability and business improvement and we wish her well in her career at Etihad Aviation Group.”
