Thales to replace ATM systems at at Hurghada and Taba International Airports

Thales has been selected by the Egyptian National Air Navigation Services Company (NANSC) to replace and renew ATM systems at Hurghada and Taba International Airports.

The company announced that it had been selected at World ATM Congress 2016, and it has partnered with NANSC to modernise Egyptian airspace.
 
The project will see Thales deploy TopSky - ATC, TopSky - Tower, primary and secondary radar, and communication systems.
 
“With its strategic location, Egypt’s airspace helps to bridge the continents of Africa, Europe and Asia. Partnering with Thales to modernise our ATM systems at Hurghada and Taba supports our mission to provide safe, orderly, expeditious and efficient air traffic management to this vital corridor,” said NANSC.
 
Thales has been involved in many programmes since its partnership with NANSC, including the Cairo Air Navigation Centre in 1982, and providing radar stations for Cairo, Assyut, Aswan, Hurghada, Mersah Matruh and Dakhla in 2006 and 2007.
