French armed forces contribute to enhancement of UAE air defence

This comes following the attacks on January 17, 2022 claimed by the Yemeni Houthi movement which targeted Abu Dhabi.

The French armed force mobilise the capabilities permanently to the UAE (FFEAU) while reinforced in-flight refuelling and ground-to-air defence capabilities.

650 French military personnel serve within FFEAU. Air operations are scheduled from Al Dafra Air Base in coordination with UAE forces. It aims to detect and intercept UAV or cruise missile attacks targeting the UAE. Rafale combat aircrafts regularly operate surveillance flights over the UAE territory.
