Vanderlande Industries acquires Beewen

In the new set-up, Beewen will be the AS/RS centre of competence within Vanderlande with the prospect of growth in line with the strategic ambitions of Vanderlande Industries, which has won contracts to supply and install the baggage handling systems of many Middle Eastern airports including the new terminal at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Muscat International and Salalah airports in Oman .
“This acquisition is of strategic importance for Vanderlande Industries,” said Jan Hulsmann, managing director distribution and parcel & postal of Vanderlande Industries. “It will enable us to accelerate the development and launch of key products and solutions by closely combining the knowledge and experience of the Beewen team with that of our own experts. We are pleased to have the continuing support of Udo Beewen in the coming years to help make this acquisition a success.”
“With this acquisition the future continuity of Beewen is guaranteed after I retire,” said Udo Beewen, managing director of Beewen. “We both intend to ensure that Beewen retains its entrepreneurial atmosphere that is so crucial for its innovation power. I have every confidence that Beewen as the AS/RS centre of competence will be an important and respected member of the Vanderlande family. We will continue to serve our existing customer base, look for new opportunities in the market and remain a supplier of AS/RS equipment to other integrators.”
