This new division will deliver foundation training for UAS (unmanned aerial systems) operators and sensor payload operators. The scope of the training will include Nano, Micro and MALE UAV Systems and also cover Payload Operators for both manned and unmanned aircraft platforms.

Delivery will be by a combination of web based and classroom based ground school and practical training using a combination of an advanced mission simulator and live flying using representative vehicles.

Adrian Leatherland, director of sales and business development said “Foundation training in this area is the missing link in the development of UAS operations. The pace of technological development has been such that training has been focused on the operation of individual systems. As the complexity of UAV systems increases, it is vital to provide training in the fundamental techniques of system operation.  In that way, the capabilities of UAV Systems can be fully exploited by consistently trained, professional operators whose main focus is the successful completion of their mission.”

The Resource UAS training programmes will be designed to meet both NATO and UK CAA requirements and will be based on current best practice from both the military and civil environments. It will also anticipate the licensing requirements that will be forthcoming from both the military and civil authorities.

John Larkin, Resource Group managing director said: “Resource UAS is an extension to the Resource Group brand already well-established within the aviation and defence training arena providing EASA part 147 training and ATC, Electronic Warfare and Air defence training.”
