The event takes place at the  Emirates Aviation College (opposite Dubai Tennis Stadium) from 18:00hrs to 19:00hrs

The value of a structured approach to flight training needs analysis and course development has long been recognized. The FAA introduced the Advanced Qualification Program in 1990 as an alternative framework for the conduct of initial and recurrent training. The JAA / EASA equivalent regulation - JAR-OPS 1.978 - was incorporated in 2006 (now OPS 1.978). The lecture will challenge the historical pilot training and checking regime used by majority of the airlines; it will review the benefits of the Alternative Training Qualification Programme (recently introduced in Emirates) and it will end with a look into the future for Flight Training by reviewing the IATA Training Qualification Initiative.

Speakers include Martin Mahoney, Senior Vice President Flight Training and David Mason, Chief of Training Standards, Emirates Airline
