The TDC is the core training activity of Trainair Plus and is designed to train and certify participants as course developers within their training units. The course provides professionals with advanced techniques for applying the instructional systems development methodology under the Trainair Plus methodology. 11 professionals from civil aviation training centers across the region joined the programme to develop in-depth knowledge and skills in course delivery.

Khalid Al Breiki, deputy general manager of GCAS said: “Providing the first ICAO Trainair Plus TDC in the Middle East puts GCAS on track to becoming the leading aviation training centre in the region and enhances the portfolio of programs and courses offered. This follows GCAS becoming the first Trainair Plus certified centre in the world last year, and we are delighted to see the first batch of trainees complete the course to further advance their aviation training skills. We look forward to welcoming the next batch”.

The TDC course will provide the opportunity to promote the Trainair Plus Standard regionally and globally by providing a pool of certified experts who come from different areas of expertise and can now develop new programs and training modules catering to the requirement of the region and beyond.

The TDC is delivered in an instructional development workshop with a focus on the practical aspects of developing training and educational programmes.  Specifically, the course has been conducted to train civil aviation course developers and trainers to design and develop standardised training packages for Trainair Plus competency-based training standards.

The course was conducted by an ICAO recognised Trainair Plus consultant from GCAS and was attended by delegates from the UAE, African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC) and Arab Civil Aviation Commission (ACAC) nations.
