The award, which was presented to GAA during the IATA Training Partner Congress in Istanbul, is in recognition of the Academy’s outstanding contribution in developing human capital by reaching out to the next generation of leaders in the evolving air transport industry in the MENA region.

Organised by the IATA Training and Development Institute (ITDI), the Training Partner Congress is designed to continue IATA’s engagement with its authorized centres worldwide.  The organisers mentioned that the number of students GAA had trained during 2011 and the students’ exam pass rates throughout 2011 are the criteria that have been used to distinguish GAA from other ATC members in the region.

CEO, Mahmood AlBalooshi, said: “We are delighted and proud to receive such recognition from IATA. It is a great endorsement of the exceptional efforts that all of the staff at GAA puts in to ensuring our customers continue to receive a high quality aviation training services and solutions from the Academy.

“With the forecasted very high growth in the aviation sector in the MENA region over the coming years and the increased demand for aviation training, this award is key for our rapidly growing customer base. GAA is very focused on continuing to boost Bahrain’s status as a premier aviation hub through adding and developing a further range of specialist aviation training services to our portfolio throughout 2012.”
