EAA turns out 255 graduates for 2012

The Academy - which is the aviation training department of Ethiopian airlines - graduated 150 maintenance technicians, 60 cabin crew and 44 marketing trainees. Among the 150 aviation maintenance technician graduates, four are Tanzanian nationals.
The graduation ceremony was attended by H.E. Dr. Joram Biswaro, Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania; Chief Executive Officer of Ethiopian Airlines, Mr. Tewolde Gebremariam; Ethiopian Airlines management and staff; and the families and relatives of the graduates.
Ethiopian Aviation Academy was inaugurated in 1956 and provides training for pilots, maintenance technicians, cabin crew, marketing and finance as well as management training to cater for its own needs and those of other airlines, primarily from Africa. It offers global standard aviation training services, with a current yearly in-take capacity of around 1,000 trainees and its Aviation Maintenance School certified by both the US Federal Aviation Agency and the European Aviation Safety Agency.
In line with its Vision 2025, Ethiopian Aviation Academy aims to become the leading Aviation Academy in Africa with global standard aviation training services. It plans to increase its yearly admission capacity fourfold by 2025, with almost half of the admissions coming from other airlines.
Ethiopian made its maiden international flight to Cairo in 1946 and is now the fastest growing airline in Africa, with services to 70 international destinations spanning four continents.
Ethiopian is a member of the Star Alliance, a leading global airline network offering customers worldwide reach with more than 21,555 daily flights to 1,356 airports in 193 countries.
Ethiopian is a multi-award winner for its commitment and contributions towards the development and growth of the African aviation industry and in recognition of its distinguished long-haul operations enhanced by the introduction of new routes and products.
Recently, Ethiopian won Gold in the African Airline of the Year 2011/2012 Awards, the 2011 AFRAA award for being consistently profitable over the years and has won the African Cargo Airline of the year 2011 Award.
With its acquisition of and firm orders for several new modern fleet, the airline is well positioned to pursue the implementation of its Vision 2025 strategic plan to become the leading aviation group in Africa.
