"We are pleased to continue to grow our relationship with Turkish Airlines," said Marc Parent, president and chief executive officer. "Turkish Airlines already uses our end-to-end portfolio of training services, including cadet training, type-rating and pilot sourcing, we are proud that it is now turning to CAE for its simulation equipment needs."
The Boeing 737NG, Airbus A320 and Airbus A330 simulators for Turkish Airlines are all CAE 7000 Series models. They will be delivered at the airline's training centre located at Ataturk Airport in Istanbul, Turkey, in 2013 for the B737NG and 2014 for the Airbus simulators. Turkish Airlines currently operates two CAE-built simulators and is a CAE Parc Aviation customer for pilot sourcing. Last March, CAE announced a three-year contract to train new Turkish Airlines A320 and B737NG First Officers in a programme ranging from ab-initio to type-rating training.
CAE also announced that it has a new customer in the form of Azerbaijan Airlines, which has purchased simulators for the Embraer 190 E-Jet, Sikorsky S92 helicopter and AgustaWestland AW139 helicopter.
