Bahrain's GAA type rated gets world class type rating

The Academy was also awarded BCAA as well as Civil Aviation Authority International (CAAi) Initial Safety Training (Cabin Crew) Organisation Accreditation for training cabin crew and is the first training academy outside Europe to receive such accreditation from the UK based CAAi, a wholly owned subsidiary of the UK CAA.
With the highly-accredited and widely recognised international TRTO standards, GAA now provides Simulator Training and Type Rating courses on Airbus A320 and A330/A340 aircraft, Multi-Crew Cooperation courses (MCC) and the training of cabin crew at their training facilities at Bahrain International Airport.
H.E. Captain AbdulRahman Al Gaoud, Undersecretary for Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs said “GAA’s training facilities and systems are comparable to other world class facilities. We had pride in certifying GAA as a Type Rating Training Organisation and BCAA will closely work together with GAA to promote the facility and position Bahrain as a centre of excellence for aviation training in the region”.
In addition to the TRTO approvals, GAA was recently awarded the highly-accredited and internationally recognized Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs - BCAA ANTR Part-147, to provide Aircraft Engineering Type training, and to conduct examinations in conformance with global aviation standards.
GAA Chief Executive Officer, Tim Shattock, commented on the Academy’s remarkable achievement saying, “We are very pleased to receive these key approvals, which further positions Gulf Aviation Academy as the leading provider of quality aviation training in the MENA region.
“With the forecasted very high growth in the aviation sector in the Middle East over the coming years and the increased demand for aviation training, these approvals and accreditations are key for our rapidly growing customer base. GAA is very focused on continuing to add and develop a further range of specialist aviation training services to our portfolio throughout 2011“.Shattock said.
