Ayla summer camp a first for introducing aviation to Arab youth

The two week camp held in Jordan's famous beach resort, is aimed at introducing young people aged between 13 and 21 to the world of aviation, as well as giving them the opportunity to develop themselves through leadership and communication workshops.
It attracted participants from all over the region; including Jordan, Kuwait, Palestine, Lebanon, Tunisia and Bahrain. The camp activities includes aircraft flying, simulator flying, basic ground school, visits to air traffic control, dispatch and maintenance units. In addition, daily sports activities are included, such as soccer, volleyball, swimming, snorkeling and hiking.
“We wanted the camp to be enjoyable and educational, regardless of what career path the participants decide to take. We included camp expert Abdallah Saeed, a 20 year veteran in camps for kids, and an avid sportsman. We also used Ms. Zeina Al-Shareef, a social skills expert who has been working with children.” said Ms. Kinda Sarrage, Business Development Manager for Ayla Aviation Academy.
Ayla has developed a reputation already for training aspiring pilots to become future leaders. Along with its UK subsidiary Atlantic Flight Training, Ayla offers a full JAA license to aspiring pilots. To date, it has graduated 145 students currently working for major airlines in the Middle East and Africa.
