Aerospace week in Dubai set to attract global players

Three shows will run during ‘Aerospace Week’, from Sunday 28 February to Thursday 4 March 2010 at Airport Expo, Dubai.
Delivering the opening address at Aircraft Interiors Middle East (AIME), on 28 February, Patrick Brannelly, Emirates Airline’s Vice President Passenger Communications & Visual Services, commented: “Middle East airlines have led the world in cabin and product innovations and it is vital that they continue to do so. It is events like AIME, based in the region, that will ensure the region’s main players continue to stay ahead.”
The exhibition will showcase cutting-edge design for cabin interiors and equipment, and innovations in connectivity on board, while 14 speakers will participate in the accompanying workshops, covering such topics as inflight entertainment and the latest onboard technical innovations in seating and air quality.
“Innovation and technology cover not only hardware, such as products and features, they are also being used to help improve service delivery, keeping cabin crew informed of customer preferences to enhance their travelling experience,” he added.
Running at the same time and location is MRO Middle East, the second edition of the successful maintenance, repair and overhaul conference and exhibition, presented by F&E Aerospace and AVIATION WEEK, the largest multimedia information and services provider to the global aviation, aerospace and defence industries.
Bringing together 34 industry professionals to present and participate in panels, the conference will discuss the Middle East as the gateway to aviation’s global growth, the theme of this year’s conference.
Alison Weller, Managing Director of F&E Aerospace said: “Our online visitor registration stats show that the two shows are garnering interest from companies and individuals involved, not only in onboard products and services, but in the wider fields of interior design, and hi-tec companies dealing with laptops, telephony and entertainment devices. Aerospace Week is a must-see event for anyone enthused by what’s next in aviation.”
Aerospace Week will conclude with the first Aerospace & Defence Training Show (ADTS), from 3 to 4 March 2010, in association with Halldale Media, specialists in simulation and training information.
ADTS comprises an exhibition featuring simulation training companies, training providers, colleges and manufacturers. The civil aviation training conference will be led by Halldale’s CAT magazine and will deal with topics such as how to engage the youth in aviation and pilot training programmes.
To date, more than 80 airlines have registered and up to 6,000 trade visitors are expected to attend the three shows over the five days, to learn about new services and products being exhibited, as well as hear industry experts address current issues at the conferences and workshops.
