New CEO for EgyptAir maintenance arm
Walid El Khafif has been named as the new chairman & CEO of the EgyptAir Maintenance and Engineering company – part of the EgyptAir Group.
Engineer El Khafif succeeds Yehia Zakaria who moved to head the EgyptAir’s holding company.
El Khafif joined the Cairo-based national carrier in 1989 as an airframe system engineer and in 2010 when he was promoted to Technical Services Director. El Khafif has been recognized over the years of his career for strong adherence to safety, ability to work as team member and leader, and having exceptional work ethic, the group said ..
He has been a key member of a number of the company's development projects including selection of new aircraft and aircraft engines for EgyptAir; supply chain for aircraft maintenance and implementing digital maintenance applications.
