Corsair is expanding and intensifying its freight business

As part of its presence on the Senegalese market as a scheduled operator since November 2012 and with the support of the UPAMES and Senegalese Prime Minister's Accelerated Growth Strategy team, Corsair is expanding and intensifying its freight business, particularly in the fishery sector.

Very active in the air cargo industry, Corsair's entire network handles over 15,000 tons of import/export goods per year. This business generates nearly 10% of the airline's sales, and has increased by 13% over the last two years. With the addition of the latest generation of A330-300 to its fleet in 2012, Corsair's load-carrying capacity is now around 20% higher.

An iconic destination, Dakar remains the busiest route between West Africa and France, with nearly 600,000 passengers per year. The arrival of Corsair marked a milestone in the history of Senegalese air traffic and has effectively contributed to the country's economic development. Since the opening of the route in November 2012, prices have fallen by over 30%, allowing a greater number of people to travel, and the number of passengers on the route has increased by 30%.

Corsair operates up to 7 weekly flights to Dakar. The increase in momentum since the route's opening has allowed the airline to expand its freight activity, a business that contributes significantly to the company's economic balance, making it a priority area of growth over the long term.

Veterinary border post opens on Saturdays thanks to Corsair initiative.

To support the growth of its freight business from Dakar, Corsair, in partnership with the Union of fishing fleet operators and Export traders of Senegal, the Accelerated Growth Strategy and Aéroports de Paris, was granted authorisation from the French health authorities to open the veterinary border inspection post on Saturdays, to enable the entry of animal products at Paris Orly on weekends.

The result of several months of discussions between various strategic stakeholders in the cargo sector, the opening of inspection services at the weekend was made possible by Corsair's initiative. The company offers a reliable, sustainable and competitive service, particularly in seafood imports to France and European markets.
