The flight commemorates the same journey carried out by Lady Mary Heath 85 years ago.

Curtis-Taylor is piloting a 1942 open cockpit Boeing Stearman biplane with a chase plane - a Cessna Caravan - supplied by Kenyan private aviation firm Phoenix Aviation.

The journey took Curtis-Taylor to the Phoenix base at Wilson Airport in Nairobu where she was met by Bill Parkinson (second left), the chairman of Phoenix Aviation, Sati Reel, the managing director and Steve Parkinson, director of special projects.

She is due to arrive in Goodwood in 26 days time.
