RJ has recently increased its ownership to 51% of the shares in Jordan Flight Catering Company.

This is in line with Royal Jordanian’s strategy to maintain its position as a leading airline in the region, build an investment system, and increase revenues by reinvesting in the carrier’s supporting units.

The Jordan Flight Catering Company is a joint venture between Royal Jordanian, dnata and Eastern Aviation Investments. dnata, a global air and travel services provider, currently holds a 25% stake in Jordan Flight Catering Company.

The Jordan Flight Catering Company and Royal Jordanian have also agreed to extend the inflight caterer’s service contract with the airline for 10 years. The highly-skilled chefs will produce over four million meals, contributing to an excellent onboard experience on RJ’s 17,000 flights annually.

The extension will see dnata continue to oversee the operations of Jordan Flight Catering Company. The partnership will ensure continued stability, operational excellence and world-class services for Jordan Flight Catering Company’s 34 airline customers. The company will operate under a joint co-brand between dnata and RJ. Besides Jordan, dnata provides quality catering services to Royal Jordanian in the UK and USA.

Royal Jordanian Vice Chairman/CEO Samer Majali emphasised the airline’s commitment to maintaining its position as a leading carrier in the region. He stated that acquiring a majority stake in The Jordan Flight Catering Company is a pivotal move to support Royal Jordanian's operational excellence and enhance its service offerings.

He added that the Jordan Flight Catering Company will continue being independently managed by dnata under a long-term agreement, providing world-class catering services to RJ and other airlines. The acquisition will also allow Royal Jordanian to optimize resources, improve flexibility, and maintain competitive pricing in its catering services.

Dana Kamal Adwan, CEO of dnata Catering & Retail, Jordan, said: “We are proud to extend our long-standing partnership with Royal Jordanian, reinforcing a collaboration built on trust and a shared focus on service excellence. Our global expertise, combined with our local team’s exceptional skills and dedication, will ensure Royal Jordanian and our other airline customers’ passengers enjoy outstanding culinary experiences on every Amman flight.

“We will keep investing in our people, infrastructure and product development alongside our partners to stay at the forefront of the Jordanian catering industry.”
