Chapman Freeborn’s Dubai office coordinated 15 of the flights which transported over 620 tons of relief and humanitarian aid loaded from stockpiles and storage in Dubai.

Chapman Freeborn Airchartering has delivered over 1,200 tons of humanitarian cargo into Uzbekistan to help support the relief efforts for the tens of thousands of people fleeing civil unrest in Southern Kyrgyzstan.

Following the rise in tension and consequential violence, an estimated 75,000 ethnic Uzbeks living in Kyrgyzstan have fled their homes and sought refuge in Uzbekistan.

The flights were coordinated across 12 days, using IL76 aircraft that landed in Andijan airport in East Uzbekistan near the border of Kyrgyzstan and Osh in South Kyrgyzstan near the border of Uzbekistan. Emergency relief representatives were on ground at location to ensure a prompt distribution of supplies and relief materials to those seeking refuge.

Lloyd D’Souza, Project Manager, Chapman Freeborn Dubai said: “Through the collaboration and coordination of Chapman Freeborn’s Sharjah office, Istanbul office, aid agencies and Sharjah airport, the humanitarian flights were executed in a prompt and seamless manner.”

The additional 15 flights were managed by Chapman Freeborn’s head office in the United Kingdom that departed from numerous locations including, Sharjah (United Arab Emirates), Amman (Jordan), Tampere (Finland), Billund (Denmark), Karachi (Pakistan) and Geneva (Switzerland), that also transported more than 615 tons of relief cargo.

Working on behalf of aid agencies, Chapman Freeborn collectively transported over 1,200 tons of high energy biscuits, light-weight tents, field camps, tarpaulin, plastic sheeting for emergency shelter, blankets, sleeping mats, kitchen sets, hygiene kits, medical supplies and relief vehicles to support those seeking refuge in  Uzbekistan
