GACA backs new event to open the Saudi market to new vendors

The rapid growth and the greater liberalisation of the Saudi Arabian market has led to a new event being planned to take place in Jeddah later this year.

The “Kingdom Airports, Aviation and Logistics Conference & Exhibition 2012” will take place in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the patronage of His Highness prince Fahad Bin Abdullah’ President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation(GACA) – Saudi Arabia on the 1st – 2nd of May 2012 at the Center of Exhibitions and Forums.
 
GACA has been at the forefront of developing and enhancing airline transportation of all areas related to the airports and Aviation and will be using the event to scout for aviation and airport suppliers as it opens up the sector to private investors and is encouraging investment opportunities in the country.

King Abdul Aziz International Airport (KAIA) is the host airport of the event and the KAIA new project General Supervisor H.E. Engr. Mohamed Abed (pictured below)  will deliver the keynote speech. All the major international airports in Saudi Arabia will take part in the event including Riyadh, Dammam, Medina and the other 26 domestic airports.

Saudi Arabia is reportedly targeting $100 billion of investment in airport, port, rail, road and logistics centre projects over the next decade, with the ambition to make the Kingdom one of the world's leading transport and logistics hubs by 2020.
Event organisers, Arabian Reach, said they are confident that  the dedicated  event will be well attended, as business players around the world  have shown keen interest in tapping into the wealth of opportunities that arise out of the numerous projects lined up for next five to six years in the Kingdom.
