Bahrain International Airshow gears up tp bring aerospace industry together

Organised by the Bahrain Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications and the Royal Bahraini Airforce in association with Farnborough International, the event is set to take place 9-11 November at Sakhir Airbase.

Mohammed bin Thamer Al-Kaabi, the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications said: “Connectivity is at the key of Bahrain’s economy, and the 2022 Bahrain International Airshow is back to connect the world to the Gulf region. We have taken advantage of the past couple of years to vastly improve the Bahrain International Airshow’s quality and value in line with our goal of delivering a business-conducive five-star environment in which to connect the global and regional aerospace industry.”

The event will also focus on the future of airport and airlines, and women in aviation.

While the growth in air passenger and cargo traffic in the Middle East is expected to outperform those in all other regions in the world by 2032, organisers have added a Cargo Hub to support the growth.

140 companies are expected to exhibit across the defence, space, business and aviation sectors, with already confirmed companies being; Airbus, Boeing, Rolls-Royce, Lockheed Martin, UAE Space Agency, BAE Systems, Bell Helicopter, Leonardo, Etihad Engineering, and MENA Aerospace.

BIAS will also host an what it promises is ‘an impressive static showcase’.

One of the show’s highlights is its flying display featuring the latest in both military jets and commercial aircraft, and this year there is something extra special for visitors as the world renown Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, will be flying the flag for the UK with a thrilling flying display.

His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Personal Representative of His Majesty the King and Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee of BIAS said: “We are very pleased to welcome the Red Arrows to our airshow this year, which marks ten years of success in bringing some of the top global players and flying teams to Bahrain. This is yet another successful outcome of Bahrain’s long-standing relationship with the UK.”
