Bahrain Airshow 2018 will see an increase in Turkish participation
Regular participants Otakar, Roketsan and TAI (Turkish Aerospace Industries) have all confirmed that they will be returning to the show whilst the Undersecretariat for Defence Industries (SSM) have also given their support and will be encouraging other Turkish defence industry businesses to exhibit in a dedicated Turkish Pavilion.
Yousif Mahmoud, head of the Bahrain International Airshow said: “By hosting the show at the Sakhir Airbase, we are able to demonstrate just about any type of Aircraft. In 2016, TAI demonstrated its T129 ATAK Advance Attack and Tactical Reconnaissance Helicopter to an audience of high-level executives and senior government officials including senior members of the Royal Family and the Government of Bahrain
The Bahrain International Airshow’s delegations programme is also a key selling point for participants of the show. When Roketsan attended the show in 2016 they met delegations from various countries including Azerbaijan’s and Pakistan’s Commander of the Air Force.
Amanda Stainer, commercial director for Farnborough International which supports Bahrain’s Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications in organising the show added, “With the Manama Air Power Symposium taking place the day before, the show’s profile as a leading business networking event has increased dramatically. Senior government officials and industry figures from GCC and around the world attend both events and often participate in our delegations programmes. In 2016, the event saw 33 military delegations from 19 countries visiting the show.”
