Russian minister of industry and trade visits Egypt and expresses cooperation in civil aviation

Manturov said the cooperation of both countries in the civil aviation industry is key and adds that the countries have great potential, particularly in terms of advancing rotorcraft: various modifications of the Mi-17, Mi-38, Ansat, Ka-226 and passenger aircraft SSJ 100 and MS-21 and their further maintenance to the Egyptian aviation market.

The particular interest of the Egyptian side was caused by a passenger aircraft SSJ 100, which was presented at a business forum in two versions: passenger versions with 95 seats, and a VIP version.

According to Manturov, the talks touched upon the possible supply of 12 aircraft SSJ 100 with the option to sell further 12 aircraft, and the first delivery to begin in late 2016.

“The conditions that are now formed by us should be competitive and profitable for the Egyptian airlines. We have certain financial instruments and mechanisms, which we will use for this part,” said Manturov.
