Iraq requests more Hellfire and air training missiles from US

The US State Department has received notice of the sale from the American Defense Security Cooperation Agency saying that the proposed sale will contribute to the foreign policy and national security goals of the United States by helping to improve a critical capability of the Iraq Security Forces in defeating Daesh.
Iraq said it will use the Lockheed Martin Hellfire missiles to improve the Iraq Security Forces' capability to support ongoing combat operations, as well as in future contingency operations.
There are no known offset agreements proposed in connection with this potential sale which now awaits US Congress approval.
