Tarek Ragheb steps down as AfBAA chairman

In his opening address to the organisation’s annual conference Ragheb described the challenges that had been overcome that has seen AfBAA progress to the point where it has been adopted as a member of the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) and today launches it’s first African Business Aviation Expo at Lanseria Airport in South Africa.
“The one challenge which I believe strongly as the most important, is establishment of transparent and institutionalized corporate governance,” Raghab said. “This is something which I believe is fundamental for any institution to grow and prosper, as such and in keeping with our charter and corporate governance, I have established this institution, and faithfully guided it over the last five years. When I first started thinking about this creating AfBAA was about seven years ago. I was a young 55 year old. This December I will turn 62, and I will be handing the reins over to a new chairman.”
AfBAA is now considering nominations as it conducts a search for a successor.
