This marks the first privatisation in nearly two decades.
Tata Sons will get full control of Air India, its low-cost carrier Air India Express and a 50% stake in ground handling company Air India SATS Airport Services.
The group will also take over 141 Air India aircraft, of which 42 are leased and remaining are owned.
