EWA Air gets the official go ahead for launch

Saturday’s unanimous vote received endorses Mayotte supplying the capital for EWA Air. .
With a capital of €4.4 million, will be owned 52.3 % by Air Austral and 47.7% by other partners, including the Chamber of Commerce Mayotte (22.7% ) and the company Ylang Invest ( 25%).
A dedicated team is being set up with the appointment of a managing director to be announced soon.. The new airline will operate using an ATR 72-500 and plans to serve six direct connections from Dzaoudzi :
Madagascae: Nosy Be - two flights per week and Mahajanga - threevflights per week
Comoros : Moroni - 2 flights per week and an additional frequency in partnership with Air Austral; . Anjouan - 4 flights per week
Tanzania and Mozambique: Pemba - two flights per week , subject to government approval and partnership with AML; Dar Es Salaam one flight per week
"We are very proud to contribute , to the birth of Ewa Air, the first Mayotte company, and a highlight for the island,” said Marie- Joseph Malé, president Ewa Air. “Ewa Air will play a strategic role for the opening and development of Mayotte and to anchor it in the Mozambique Channel , " he said.
