Following a limited competitive tender, the National Air Navigation Services Company (NANSC) awarded the European manufacturer the contract as part of its modernisation programme for the Cairo Air Navigation Centre (CANC).

The TopSky ATC will include the most advanced and latest features, including the support of the new flight plan defined by ICAO and the Multi Sensor Tracking System designed to improve the accuracy of the track position on the air situation for controllers. Also all secondary radars, recently modernised by Thales with mode S, will be now connected to the TopSky ATC system to provide mode S information to controllers, thus enhancing their situational awareness.

“Our close cooperation with NANSC over the past 30 years is testament to the fact that the unparalleled service excellence we provide turns all our client relationships into long-lasting friendships” said Jean-Marc Budin, Thales Vice President Sales & Marketing “Our proven TopSky system is now installed across 80 countries and will guarantee a fast implementation of this turnkey project.”
