TAAG commences regular cargo operations from new airport
TAAG Angola Airlines has said that regular cargo flights operated by the company from the New Luanda International Airport are now live.
A weekly cargo service (departing from Luanda every Monday) connects Angola to regional destinations in Lagos/Nigeria and Brazzaville/Republic of Congo.
This is another milestone in TAAG's ongoing expansion process, bonded with the company's previous announcement related to the incorporation of the freighter Boeing 737-800BCF into its fleet.
The B737-800 D2-TBU is capable of transporting up to 23.9t of cargo. The main deck offers 141.5m3 of cargo space, while the lower deck provides 43.7m3 of space for bulk cargo. The freighter has the capacity for 11 pallet positions that can accommodate 10 contoured 96in x 125in pallets.
In January 2024, TAAG moved approximately 1000 tons of diverse cargo between domestic, regional, and international destinations.
