South Africa prepares for first solar powered airport
Africa's first solar powered airport is to be established in South Africa, which will be fully functional without the country's electrical grid.

The airport will run from installed photo-voltaic panels, and is set to be located in George, South Africa.
Whilst the airport would be no less functional than any other airport, problems such the maintenance cost of running a solar system and the country’s economy need to be taken into consideration.
Although a solar powered airport costs more to run than a conventional airport, the new airport will create more jobs and economic improvement.
