IndiGo begins new daily flights to Abu Dhabi International Airport
Bryan Thompson, CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports, said: “This new addition expands further the network of the Capital’ airport, to provide our passengers with enhanced connectivity. It also reflects further on the strong global confidence in the Abu Dhabi market, and we hope to continue to build on such partnerships over the coming months and years.”
Abu Dhabi Airport, chief commercial officer, Maarten De Groof, said: “With a total of 14 flights per week, these new connections reflect Abu Dhabi’s status as a global hub for travel and business. India has always been one of our largest and most important areas of operations, and we are pleased to welcome these new daily services and to continue meeting the market’s growing demand.”
William Boulter, chief commercial officer, IndiGo, said: “We are delighted to receive a heartening welcome from Abu Dhabi International Airport this morning. IndiGo today operated its inaugural flights from Calicut-Abu Dhabi and Cochin-Abu Dhabi. IndiGo has completed 12 years of successful operations in the India market as a low cost carrier, and adding Abu Dhabi to its network will further augment the regional connectivity that we aspire to provide to our customers.”
Boulter further added: “Abu Dhabi holds immense potential for IndiGo, and this launch is part of organic expansion within the Gulf for us, as we complement our domestic network with international connectivity. With these non-stop flights between Abu Dhabi and India, IndiGo operates 63 daily non-stop flights between the Middle East and India. IndiGo will continue to provide an on-time, courteous and hassle free service, and affordable fares to our customers, as always.”
