Africa’s leading airports management company has partnered with Munich Airport Group, a global leader in aviation services technology which will allow employees from each organisation to learn from the other’s knowledge, skills and regional experience.

The partnership agreement will cover areas including customer service, quality management, consulting projects, commercial activities, IT systems, property development, staff development, airport security and environmental protection.

The Airports Council International (ACI) has reported that Munich International Airport is the second busiest airport in Germany, and is globally recognised as a centre of excellence for customer service and technology.

CEO of Airports Company South Africa, Bongani Maseko, said: “There are a number of collaboration opportunities offered by this agreement with Munich Airport Group, especially in new customer service technologies and systems.”

“Our cooperation with ACSA will yield important knowledge and ideas on the airport business in Africa, and I'm confident that our partner will also benefit through the exchange visits to Munich,” said Dr. Michael Kerkloh, president and CEO of Munich airport.

One of the first opportunities for the companies to share knowledge and expertise will come as both airports plan to construct runways and expand, as the airports will be able to support each other during the construction period.
