Airport Show: Kuwait Airways signs up for GCAS

The MoU outlines a number of opportunities for cooperation and development of human capital through the facilities and courses offered by GCAS at its Head Office at Al Bateen Executive Airport.

 GCAS’ establishment was fully endorsed by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) to provide the Gulf and Middle East region with a centre of excellence for aviation industry training. GCAS – a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Airports Company – is the exclusive training provider for JAATO in the gulf and Middle East region, and is the tenth certified training center to provide ACI courses.

 The MoU signing ceremony was held at the ADAC stand at the exhibition by Ahmed Al Haddabi, Senior Vice President of Airports Operations, ADAC, on behalf of CGAS, and Dr. Lafi M. Al Dhafiri, Director Training & development, Kuwait Airways with the attendance of Dr. Othman Khouri, Deputy General Manager, GCAS, and Eng. Abdullah N. Al Anezi, Deputy Director Engineering, Head of Business Centre, Kuwait Airways.

 Ahmed Al Haddabi, Senior Vice President of Airport Operations in ADAC commented:

 “GCAS is offering a curriculum of high quality courses and training options at an unbeatable location with new facilities due to open in July 2010 at Al Bateen Executive Airport, a fully operational private jet airport. This allows us to offer the theory as well as a good insight into the practice of Airport and aviation operations, and play a key role in developing the future leaders of our industry in the region. We are fully committed to furthering the collective expertise and knowledge base in our industry and aim to provide training solutions for all key aviation organisations in the GCC. We look forward to welcoming Kuwait Airways to their first course at GCAS.”  

Dr. Lafi M. Al Dhafiri, Director Training & development, Kuwait Airways, said:

 From his part, Eng. Abdullah Al Alnezi, Head of Business Centre, applauded the support and cooperation of the UAE’s organizations and explained that the Kuwait Airways’ Business Centre, based in Dubai, will be working in partnership with GCAS on promoting higher standards of professional practices in the region’s aviation industry. The center offers various training programs that covers airline commercial courses, specialized technical courses, financial & management trainings as well as training in consultancy and management studies.

GCAS attracts the attention of aviation organisations from across the GCC and it announced a partnership agreement with the Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs department earlier this year.

As the premier aviation and airport training centre for the Middle East, it continues to promote international best practice in safety and security, and all other areas of airport operations.  Its courses range from in-house designed curriculum tailored to the region’s requirements to develop and promote the aviation industry, alongside the internationally endorsed courses of the world’s most reputed aviation training organisations.
