Will Arik Air merge to survive?

There are indications that stakeholders are considering a merger between Arik Air and Aero Contractors, both of which are under the management of Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).

According to sources, the option, is due to the alleged debt burden of the airlines following the Covid-19 pandemic.

 

The CEO of Aero Contractors, Captain Ado Sanusi, said that while the history and circumstances of both companies differ, the merge ‘could be a possibility’ if the federal government could ensure the survival of the airlines.
