SriLankan Airlines flies Umrah pilgrims from Trichy to Jeddah
SriLankan Airlines relaunched flights between Colombo and Jeddah on 15 August with its first customers being a group of Umrah pilgrims.

The pilgrims were flying from Tiruchirappalli, India on to Jeddah for the inaugural flight.
Jeddah is the gateway to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah.
SriLankan now offers a thrice weekly service from Colombo to Jeddah every Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday with connections for Indian Umrah Pilgrims across the cities of Trichy, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Trivandrum, Chennai and Madurai.
The airline additionally operates daily from Colombo to Dammam and Riyadh, extending further connections to Saudi Arabia for Indian travellers.
