South Africa's Insight wins Indian training contract
Training organisation Insight Aviation based at Port Alfred in South Africa has been awarded a contract to select and train pilots for India’s low cost carrier IndiGo.
IndiGo is the largest airline in India by passengers carried and fleet size as of June 2019and is planning further fleet growth.
The initial first stage of training – the ATPL theory - will be carried out in India, before the cadets move to Port Alfred for their basic flight training. in Port Alfred, South Africa.
“Upon the return of cadets to India, Insight Aviation will manage the conversion of their South African CAA license into Indian DGCA license before they proceed to an authorized Aviation Training Organization (ATO) for a MCC and A320 Type Rating course”, IndiGo said in a statement.
