The introduction of 2 new Boeing 787 aircraft marks an important milestone in the development of Air Austral's flight schedule. The new aircraft which offers 264 seats and 2 travel classes - Club Austral and Loisirs - will open up new possibilities for the Company.

Following the successful, and much-awaited, launch of the direct Mayotte and Paris route on 10 June, the Company is continuing to develop and has launched a non-stop flight between Reunion and Thailand.

"We are delighted to be able to offer our customers this direct flight once again. The 787 may be a medium-capacity aircraft but its range is suited to long distances; we can now offer our passengers a more comfortable trip and also ensure a sustainable service. In parallel, the Southern India service, operated by Boeing 737, will be maintained and we will offer increased seats to Chennai; we will be promoting this destination in the near future," Marie Joseph Malé, Air Austral CEO.
