The national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman was awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification by Bureau Veritas under UKAS accreditation, with certificate number IND11.1299U.

ISO 9001:2008 is an internationally-recognised standard for quality management, ensuring that organisations have proven processes in place to meet customer requirements. The accreditation is granted independently and signifies the high quality of the participating organisation’s work.

Abdulaziz bin Saud Alraisi, Oman Air’s chief officer, management affairs, said: “Oman Air is proud to announce that our Supply Chain Management operation has gained ISO 9001:2008 certification, which is a clear demonstration of the high standards that have been both achieved and maintained.  The effective management of our supply chains is vital to the overall effectiveness of the airline and, whilst it may not be visible to our customers, it has played a key part in Oman Air’s continuing success.”

Fred Vessali, Oman Air’s general manager supply chain management, added: “The supply chain management department can take pride in our achievement, as this is a major step forward for Oman Air.  This recognition will provide us with an opportunity to increase the value of our activities and to improve our performance continually, by focusing on our major processes and ensuring customer satisfaction.”
