Jazeera Airways passes Facebook milestone

Kuwait's Jazeera Airways is today celebrating crossing 50,000 likes on its Facebook page, which is 'liked' by more than 46 nationalities living in the Middle East and is one of the most interactive pages by an airline in the Middle East. It has an average engagement of 1.18% interactions versus an industry average of 0.1% according to the global social media analytics platform, Socialbakers.

Jazeera Airways vice president of sales, Rafik Boghdady, said: “Our Facebook page is a great platform to interact with our customers, to share our latest updates and get their feedback on our offering. We thank our fans for their continued support.”
 
The airline launched its Facebook page in September 2011. Followers are mainly from 20 nationalities, topped by Kuwaitis and followed in decreasing order by Egypt, Lebanon, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Syria, India, Philippines, Pakistan, United Stated of America, Iraq, Palestine, Tunisia, Morocco, Bahrain, Sri Lanka, United Kingdom, and Indonesia.
 
The page is kept interactive with daily postings, promotions, and competitions. The airline’s most recent competition enabled photography enthusiasts to post their original photography through a secure and dedicated Facebook app, and received more than 500 entries from around the region. Jazeera Airways Facebook fans voted for their favorite photography and the 12 photos most voted for are today featured in the airline’s 2013 calendar, one for each in a month.
