Flydubai prepares for job cut and fleet shrink announcement

Sources in the airline understand that 17 of the carrier’s 737 fleet are to be released meaning a likelihood of contract cancellations for more than 200 pilots. With cabin crew included it could mean close to 800 people going.
Flydubai will retain 37 aircraft in its post-pandemic fleet.
The news came as Flydubai launched repatriation flights to selected destinations including multiple cities of India and Pakistan with an immediate effect.
The Dubai-based hybrid-carrier said on Friday that it was starting special repatriation flights to multiple cities in 11 countries to repatriate UAE residents and stranded passengers in the UAE.
