Etihad took delivery of its first narrow body aircraft in April 2008 and says it has worked closely with the GCAA since then to gain the CAT III B approval.

Captain Richard Hill, Etihad Airways’ executive vice operations, says: “It is great news that Etihad has successfully gained CAT III B approval from the GCAA for our narrow body aircraft as it will significantly reduce the impact that low visibility conditions, particularly fog, have on our operations at Abu Dhabi airport.”
