DRC suspends RwandAir flights due to tensions
The Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo has made the decision to suspend RwandAir flights following diplomatic tensions.
Flights were suspended in response to what it claimed was Kigali's support for M23 rebels carrying out a military offensive in the eastern province of North Kivu. Rwanda has denied supporting the rebels.
In a statement, RwandAir said: “We consider the safety and security of our customers and crew.”
RwandAir will cancel all flights to Kinshasa, Lubumbashi, and Goma with immediate effect.
