Azman AIr suspends operations following MRO delays
Nigerian airline Azman Air has closed down operations claiming delays in maintenance checks have left them without aircraft.
The airline’s parent company, Azman Air Services Limited asked all but eight of its staff to take unpaid compulsory leave with immediate effect.
Nurudden Aliyu, the airline‘s spokesperson, was quoted in local media saying “The decision was made due to a number of factors, including the ongoing C-checks on its aircraft and the high cost of operations.
All our 737s we are using for domestic operation are due for C-checks.” he said.
Two of the airline’s fleet are already with an MRO provider in Turkey but have been delayed due to a queue in the maintenance hangar. They were expected to have been returned prior to the other two aircraft leaving for their C-checks
