Ayla Academy introduces more youngsters to careers in aviation

Young people from France, Palestine, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon and Oman, made the journey to Aqaba to join the team at the JAA approved Ayla Aviation Academy for its second aviation summer camp.
During the event the youngsters enjoyed flights over the resort city and across the hills of the famous Wadi Rum and then made visits on the ground to the great world heritage site of Petra.
They learned about the aviation industry for the control tower to the cockpit and had lessons in communications and used the flight training academy’s simulator to get a real hands-on feel.
Aged between 11-17 the young people worked alongside Ayla cadets to get an understanding of team work.
“I have always dreamed of being a pilot, actually flying in the Diamond aircraft has made it impossible for me to consider any other career besides becoming a pilot,” said Khaled Tannir, 17, from Lebanon.
“The camp was a real success,” said Kinda Sarrange, Ayla’s business development manager. “As the only summer camp of its type in the region it gives us the opportunity to open their eyes to the vast options of various careers in the aviation industry.”
Ayla itself is offering its pilots a JAR approved licence in conjunction with its sister company Atlantic Flight Training in the UK and is also now offering a BSc in aeronautics through its partnership with the famour US Embry Riddle university.
