Etihad to add Los Angeles to its US network

Etihad Airways will make Los Angeles its fourth U.S. destination, the airline said at the World Routes in Las Vegas today.

Flights to the  American west coast from Etihad’s hub in Abu Dhabi will begin June 1 next year, pending regulatory approval.

In a statement Etihad CEO James Hogan said: "We are delighted to add Los Angeles, a major US and global destination with a significant metropolitan population and growing economy, to the Etihad Airways' network in 2014."

Etihad will utilise a  237-seat Boeing 777-200LR aircraft for the daily round-trip flight .

Etihad’s recent codeshare with American Airlines will give it reach into the domestic American market. It already flies to New York JFK , Chicago, and Washington Dulles.
