Majali resigns as head of Royal Jordanian

The Royal Jordanian Board of Directors approved the resignation at a Board meeting on Saturday. It takes effect from August 1st.
Chairman of RJ Board of Directors Engineer Nasser Lozi offered his gratitude to Majali on behalf of the members of the board and the RJ family. Majali joined Royal Jordanian in 1979, holding a B.Sc. Degree in Aeronautical Engineering and Design. He then obtained an M.Sc. Degree in Air Transport Management from the United Kingdom. He worked in several departments in the airline, including Flight Operations, Planning, Information Technology, Passenger and In-flight Services before being appointed as President/CEO in 2001
The chairman praised Majali for all the work he has done putting RJ among the leading Middle Eastern airlines and for taking on the role as Chairman of IATA and holding such an eminent position in the air transport industry.
Lozi said Majali had contributed to King Abdullah's vision to place Jordan as the gateway to the Middle East by modernizing the company's fleet, broadening its route network through its membership in the oneworld airline alliance as the first regional airline to be invited to join a global alliance, and successfully taking the national carrier to privatisation.
