Duties / Responsibilities             

V1 Global, on behalf of a Prestigious & Reputable Regional Carrier is seeking an experienced Director - Aircraft Engineering Services - for an exciting as well as both a challenging and a demanding opportunity

 

The candidate shall be accountable for monitoring and building quality and compliance with specification for new aircraft and to ensure that maintenance programmes for the client's aircrafts are kept up to date and rigorously implemented so that aircraft have high levels of availability and high levels of safety whilst minimising costs and operational risk.

The candidate shall be accountable for but not limited to:

 

 To contribute as a member of senior management team of the client to the development and cost-effective implementation of the overall technical and engineering strategy/budget/plan with particular emphasis on engineering requirements.

 

Support the businesses in planning aircraft fleet requirements and specification of aircraft to ensure maximum future efficiency in terms of operating costs and standardisation of technologies and equipment

 

Work closely with manufacturers to monitor aircraft at various stages of production and fit-out to ensure that aircraft comply with both manufacturers and the client's specifications

 

Ensure that appropriate completion, operational proving and post delivery checks are carried out, and to review completeness of documentation as required by the aviation authorities for the registered domicile of the aircraft

 

Design and document maintenance programmes for new aircraft making sure that these are kept up to date with any changes or detail modifications from manufacturers and ultimately ensuring that these maintenance plans are rigorously applied

 

Ensure that accurate records of all checks, service and maintenance or repair activities are created and maintained in case of need for future inspection by authorities

 

Liaise with the management of the material management to ensure that appropriate levels of spares are ordered and maintained and that schedules for order of replacement/swap-out parts are created and implemented of scheduled maintenance.

 

Implement best practice with regard to the leadership & performance management of the Aircraft Engineering and Research function whilst developing and monitoring the department budget, and control third party check cost and progress;
